Summer is almost here, and a brand new season of Shop the Show is just around the corner at AmericasMart! As a preview, we’ll be checking in with each of our talented influencers, including lifestyle blogger Landyn Hutchinson. Landyn is the refreshingly endearing personality behind the popular blog Living with Landyn, an inspirational resource for all things home design & styling, recipes, beauty, fitness and more.
Landyn’s authentic perspective and eye for design have made her a sought-after brand collaborator--and in mid-2019, she will make the leap into retail as she opens her first brick & mortar store in Nashville! Her “Shop the Show” expedition at AmericasMart will allow this trendspotter to zero in on all her favorites in home, fashion and gift merchandise, which she’ll take back with her for the grand opening of her store.
We peeked behind the curtain with Landyn on her inspiration, and got some fresh tips on what exactly she’ll be scouting at market for 2019 and beyond. Read on for more from Landyn!
Fun Facts: I am married to my 8th grade sweetheart!
We’ve moved nine times from coast to coast, so let’s say I know a thing or two about packing/unpacking and decorating a new space with the same furniture.
I could easily survive on extra toasty Cheez-Its, peanut butter and Casa Dragones tequila.
Inspired by: I’m so inspired by designer April Tomlin, and the way she uses organic and raw materials with a clean and simple palette. I’m drawn to everything she designs. Just one of the many reasons she’ll be helping with the design of my new brick & mortar store...opening in Nashville this summer!
3 Things every home needs: Oversized neutral sofa, fresh flowers, white marble.
3 Must-haves for next season & beyond: Gold/brass finishes: Although rose gold had its moment, I don’t think yellow gold is going anywhere. Concrete: I love its sleek & modern feel for everything from counter tops to accessories. Acrylic: Gives a room structure without feeling heavy or taking up too much visual real estate.
3 Go-to colors for next season & beyond: White, always white Black: It’s classic, and adds a little bit of necessary drama to every room. Woodland colors: Especially mushroom grays & forest green hues.
What’s new: Imperfection is the new pretty.
Upcoming trends she’s scouting at market: Give me all the neutrals! I’m hoping to find an array of raw woods, plenty of concrete accents, natural woven furniture and mixed metals.
