Influencer Inspiration: Lauren Lefevre of Edit by Lauren

A Q&A with a February 2019 Featured Influencer

Who and/or what are you inspired by?

I am inspired by other women who are both mothers and female entrepreneurs, who have a dream and a passion and “go for it,” and who are honest about the daily process of juggling a career, kids and a family! A few such women who inspire me are Sara Blakely, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel Hollis.

What would you say the mission statement for your blog is? What drives you to create content for your readers?

My blog originally started as an extension of my wardrobe styling business, Edit by Lauren, which was founded on the premise of helping women of every age, budget and body-type look and feel their best. Similarly, my blog’s mission is to provide inspiration to women of all ages to get a little more creative and colorful with their wardrobes. I love mixing “attainable” high and low fashion pieces and providing styling advice on how to wear clothing pieces, shoes and accessories multiple ways. As my blog has expanded to include lifestyle topics like home décor, beauty and fitness,  I I hope to inspire and encourage my readers in the same way!

What is one project or partnership you’ve done that you’re most proud of?

Last year, I completed a year-long partnership with Home Depot, hired as their first fashion blogger for two major overhauls/video productions in my home. It was really fun and a great challenge to infuse my fashion style into my home décor for these projects.

What content on your blog/Instagram do you find gets the most engagement and why do you think it resonates with your readers?

My readers /followers seem to especially love seeing my “everyday” mom-on-the-go style and lately I have been getting a ton of positive feedback when I share my home as well as my beauty routines! I truly believe this is because people want to see the “real” me that they can relate with on a daily basis, more than a “glam” look constantly! I think this is also why followers always seem to gravitate more towards a simple “mirror selfie” than a styled shot…because it’s so relatable!

What are the 3 must-have items in your closet that you could never part ways with and why are they so special to you?

My Valentino Rock Stud Bag: This was my first designer bag purchase and I saved for a year for it! It was a fun sense of pride and accomplishment to purchase it a few years ago before my first New York Fashion Week!

My statement earring collection: I love my collection of statement earrings of every style and color! These are my most worn pieces of jewelry that add pop color and/or pizzazz to my outfits all year long.

My favorite faux-fur vest: It may sound silly, but I found the perfect faux-fur vest for under-$100 two years ago and I wear it more than any coat or jacket in my closet, season after season. Living in the South, a coat/jacket Is often too heavy, so I pair my fur vest over everything from jeans outfits to skirts to dresses. I get so many inquiries about it each Fall/Winter, I wish I could reproduce it!

Lauren joins top bloggers Mireille Beckwith of City Peach Bailey Schwartz of Daily with Bailey and Brooke Webb of KB Styled – who have a collective following of nearly 500,000 – to discuss tips for developing a strong social media strategy, how brands and influencers work with the popular platform and so much more in conversation with Roni Nuby of Soca Clothing Boutique in “How Fashion + Technology Continue to Collide” on Thursday, February 7.
