The Home Editfounders, Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, are both California transplants, currently living in Nashville. Brought together by a mutual friend, it was friendship at first text, and business partnership immediately thereafter.
The goal in starting The Home Edit was to reinvent traditional organizing, and merge it with design and interior styling. While every project is rooted in functional systems that can be maintained for the long term, there is just as much emphasis placed on transforming the space visually and adding their signature stylized aesthetic.
We went behind the scenes with this dynamic duo to get the goods on their process, find some fun facts and sniff out fresh trends.
Read on for more from Clea and Joanna!
Joanna is both a gambling addict, and too afraid to mix coffee with Advil. She’s a constant walking contradiction.
Clea is rarely sentimental, and willing to throw out anything, but she still keeps her childhood stuffed animal on her closet shelf because Toy Story made her feel bad about storing it.
Up until a few years ago, Joanna thought washing her face was a scam invented by soap companies.
Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek. Black and white, and always ahead of the curve.
On their greatest organizing dilemma ever:

With one closet in particular, after nearly giving up, we found a way to add additional storage under the clothing and on the top shelf that saved the day. Otherwise you would have found us in the fetal position under a pile of winter knits!
