HISTORY MADE AT AMERICASMART-ATLANTA

History was made during the incomparable January 2007 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings and Area Rug Markets as AmericasMart Atlanta hosted its largest Market in its half-century history—more than 100,000 retailer and exhibitor customers strong.

The first Market of 2007 brought together this unprecedented number of buyers and sellers in more than 2,000 permanent showrooms and 4,500 temporary booths—the largest number of temporary booths ever and featuring the Market debut of more than 500 new exhibiting companies—in a single address and all at one time.

Here, retailers from every U.S. state and 80 countries worldwide discovered:

• The introduction of Martha Stewart Area Rugs for Safavieh® in an exclusive worldwide debut and gala reception;
• The January Market debut of Coastal Lifestyles Collection and AMERICASMART’s Children’s WorldSM;
• The rebranding of The Gardens to its new moniker…The Gardens—Casual Living & Home Décor;
• The expansion and relocation of Pampered Pets and the Collegiate Product Licensee Pavilion;
• The world premiere of Afghan Impressions: Area Rug Artistry & Inspiration—which brought some of Afghanistan’s most spectacular export treasures, including traditional rugs, furniture reproductions and artifacts to Market;
• The triumphant return of the 2007 edition of the America’s Magnificent Carpets Awards and the MOI: The Museum of Introductions;
• More than one-half million square feet of product in some 200 Area Rug Center showrooms and temporary showrooms—more than 30 of which were new to AMERICASMART;
• The return to the Atlanta International Area Rug Market of 10 exhibitors after lengthy absences, as well as the return of broadloom—in mass quantities;
• More than 20 major showroom remodels and expansions in the Area Rug Center (AmericasMart 1, floor 3—6) alone.
