ATLANTA, June 2006—AMERICASMART-ATLANTA has experienced an overwhelming growth in its area rug business as both retailer and exhibitor numbers continue to climb. As a result, AMERICASMART has developed new initiatives and expanded current successful programs within the Atlanta International Area Rug Market. This July (16-19), AMERICASMART’s commitment to the area rug industry will shine through as it unveils its latest efforts to enhance the market experience.
The highlighted features include:
AMERICASMART University seminars tailored to the rug industry where retailers and exhibitors can acquire the knowledge and tools needed to stay competitive and grow business;
The Retailer of the Year (ROY) Awards will be held at the Georgia Aquarium, aligning the rug industry’s prestigious awards with the world’s largest aquarium. Now the awards will take place at a venue more suited for the quality of attendees;
AMERICASMART joins forces with the Oriental Rug Imports Association (ORIA) to host the first annual silent auction featuring 20-30 of the world’s most exquisite, hand-knotted rugs. Proceeds will benefit ORIA’s Charitable Fund benefiting Children, a vehicle through which educational, community and public healthcare initiatives are funded.
These additions, along with others, are all a part of AMERICASMART’s evolving commitment to increased industry education and market experience in Atlanta. With 400,000 square-feet of space spanning three floors and more than 140 exhibitors, the Atlanta International Area Rug Market is a valuable resource to the rug industry. Consequently, retailers and exhibitors will continue to see improvements each market, starting this July and moving into the January 2007 market (January 18-21).
