Collegiate Product Assumes Center Stage at AMERICASMART

Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) and AmericasMart Take Long-Standing Alliance to New Levels with Expansion of Signature Product Category

ATLANTA, May 2006—The demand to tap the surging momentum created by collegiate licensed product continues as AMERICASMART-ATLANTA and the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the oldest and most influential collegiate licensing agency in the nation, have teamed to again expand AMERICASMART’s Collegiate License Product Pavilion—a temporary product collection introduced six short months ago to overwhelmingly positive fanfare during the January 2006 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.

Housed on floor 3 of AMERICASMART ? for the July 2006 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market® with 4,500 square feet of exhibit space and 60 exhibitors, the Pavilion will assume a new Market Temporaries home for January 2007 in the west/southwest quadrant of floor 5 of AMERICASMART ?. The new space will feature some 100 exhibitors and 10,000 square feet of product—thereby doubling its existing configuration.

“We have developed a terrific relationship with AMERICASMART,” says David Kirkpatrick, Vice President of Non-Apparel Marketing for The Collegiate Licensing Company. “AMERICASMART’s markets have national appeal and each has come to represent ‘must-attends’ for collegiate gift licensees and retailers, as well as university licensing directors,” continues Kirkpatrick. “We co-sponsored a retailer’s reception in January 2005, co-hosted a retailers’ educational seminar in July 2005, and collectively built The Collegiate Pavilion last January. An exciting foundation has been built and we look forward to July 2006 and beyond.”

Year after year, collegiate product has become increasingly more sought-after by retailers large and small, and by their customers, who are buying merchandise in volume directly proportionate to Americans’ loyalty to and passion with all things collegiate…from football to basketball, from south or north of the Mason-Dixon Line, from east or west of the Mississippi River, from retailers representing the SEC, ACC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac-10, and everything in between.
