The Burlap Horse

Melissa Haberstroh owns The Burlap Horse an inviting retail showroom for antique and heirloom furnishings and lifestyle accessories in Boerne, Texas, with her husband Jeff. She also provides design and procurement services to hotels and other commercial businesses.

Most recently honored with a special Gold Award for service to the retail community, she has also been awarded two Gold Retailers Excellence Awards in Store Design and Visual Merchandising and Display. In 2006, the store was named by Home Accents Today as one of the Fifty Retail Stars.

Active in her community serving as commissioner of the Historic Commission and as a member of the Boerne Middle School South Site Planning Committee, she has co-chaired the Citizens Bond Committee and has served as Director of the Boerne Chamber of Commerce. She was the first appointed ex-officio member to the Gift & Home Trade Association’s (GHTA) Board and is a member of the GHTA Retail Advisory Board.
